Established in 1963 by the Jay family, second generation owners Daniel Jay and his wife Zoe took over in 2002 and have recently refurbished the restaurant to enhance the shabby-chic country-style ambience. There are seats for 50 inside with a choice of tables by the light airy windows overlooking the river, or in cosy nooks & crannies within the restaurant, which was once a Gatehouse dating back to the 16th century.

Outside there is seating for up to 20, where you can watch the world going by and often see the ducks on the river whilst enjoying your refreshments.

Children and babies are well catered-for with high-chairs, changing facilities, colouring sheets and crayons, and a popular Children's Menu.

We are also pleased to offer a selection of Gluten-Free dishes such as Roasts, Sausages, and Scones, as well as Dairy-Free Soya Milk, and a varied choice of Vegetarian dishes.
